Good for the Environment
Biking is a better form of transportation. It's a more clean, eco-friendly means of transportation. While automobiles pump billions of tons of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere each year, biking produces none. This means you can rest assured knowing that you aren't contributing to the global warming and air pollution.
Parking
Many malls and shopping centers have special parking areas designed specifically for bikes. And best of all, these parking spots tend to be located near the front of the store(s), just make sure to invest in a good chain and know how to chain your bike properly.
Efficient
According to Scientific American, the bicycle is one of the most efficient human-powered forms of transportation. As much as 99% of the energy transferred from the riser through the pedals is projected into the wheels.
Health
Biking is incredibly good for your health. In addition to burning calories, it builds muscles and endurance. Biking is a classified as a form of medium-intensity cardiovascular activity. It speeds up your heart rate, allowing your body to burn calories and fat more easily. It's not just your legs that get a workout, your lower back, arms & core are also hard at work!
Low Maintenance
Basic maintenance for a bike is significantly less costly than maintaining a car or truck. Aside from checking the tire pressure and maintaining the chain, there's not much else you need to do for a bike. This makes bikes a low-maintenance form of transportation, which is just one of the many benefits on your wallet by using a bike.
