That’s why we designed it to pack down to 1/3rd its volume in only 10 seconds. That means you can store your utility bike in your urban apartment, fit it in the elevator, or stash it in a train for weekend getaways.

With room for up to two Thule Yepp Maxi child seats, plus grocery space to spare, the GSD lets you ditch the minivan. The low step-thru frame makes getting on and off much safer, and with an extra low center of gravity, the GSD is stable and steady.

Fits the Whole Family Too

Minivans don’t come in S, M, L & XL to fit the driver, so why do bicycles? The GSD is designed to be shared by a family. It adjusts to fit mom, dad or the kids—any rider from 150 – 195 cm. Best of all, thanks to Tern’s adjustable stem, and compact geometry, adjusting the bike only takes seconds.

Despite its city-bike footprint, the GSD boasts cargo-bike capacity, with a maximum gross vehicle weight of 200 kg (440 lb). Build it up with Cargo Hold Panniers and the Shortbed and Transporteur racks, to carry industrial strength Eurocrates, a week of groceries or a family picnic plus the kitchen sink.

Yepp, It'll Fit Two

Thule Maxi child seats are the best in the business. The GSD is designed to fit two, with plenty of foot clearance for the rider. No special adapters needed.

All Day Battery

The GSD is one of the few bikes equipped with Bosch’s latest Dual-Battery technology. You can connect up to two batteries for a range of over 250km. Tour from dusk to dawn, or commute for weeks on a single charge.

Sell the RV

The GSD is an awesome touring machine. It’s got room for six Ortlieb bags (4 on the rear rack and 2 on the front), and a range of up to 150 miles. A bit of careful packing lets you bring a full touring load, together with a little passenger. That means two GSDs let a family of four tour the world, no bike trailer required.

The Shortbed Tray is a heavy-duty cargo upgrade for the GSD that carries serious loads low to the ground. It fits standard 600 × 400 mm Eurocrates, so you can carry up to 80 liters of provisions. Pack it with a cooler and save the day at soccer practice, or leave it in its original configuration for IKEA runs. Depending on your cargo preference, mount it parallel or perpendicular. Offers easy access for swapping and removing one or two batteries.

Front and Center

The Transporteur Rack is a modular cargo carrier. Accessorize it with a 300 × 400 mm Eurocrate, a standard crate of 20 beers, or a recycled wooden box. It carries up to 20 kg, so even when you’re carting two kids on the back, you can bring a picnic too. With two convenient bottle mounts, you can load it out with water for a long tour, or a handy bike lock for commuting in the city.

Spartan™ Rack

A low-riding front rack

The Spartan Rack is built from large-gauge tubular aluminum for strength and stiffness and features a very low-center-of-gravity for excellent stability when loaded with panniers. The adjustable mounting system allows the rack to be fitted to both Tern 20” and 24” bicycles. NOT COMPATIBLE WITH TARSUS FORK.

Daisy-chained together or individually, the two 3-meter long straps quickly fasten just about any odd-shaped bulky item. Whether you’re tying down a push bike or carting around extra luggage, the Batten Straps are an essential tool for the GSD.
